VFP BOARD ELECTIONS IN PROCESS

The VFP Board of Directors consists of 13 members who are elected by VFP members for three-year terms. The Board represents the chapters and members of VFP, and exercises general oversight of all aspects of the organization, including goals and principles, finances, membership building, communication, administration and governance. The officers of VFP are elected by the board from among the board members. This election we are voting for five board positions. > Read the bios here

If you are a verified veteran member and have not received your ballot by October 17, please contact the National Office. All ballots must be postmarked by Friday, October 23, 2009.

JOIN VFP AT THE SCHOOL OF AMERICAS WATCH - NOVEMBER 20-22, 2009

From November 20-22, 2009, thousands will vigil at the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia, to stand up for justice, to shut down the School of the Americas and to end the oppressive U.S. foreign policy that the school represents.  Once again, VFP will be part of this yearly demonstration.  >  Get details


FANTASTIC ACTION FOR MILITARY RAPE AWARENESS WEEK IN TIMES SQUARE YESTERDAY

VFP member Ann Wright organized an event to recognize "Military Rape Awareness Week" in front of the military recruitment center in Times Square, NYC yesterday.  The event featured internationally known playwright Eve Ensler and survivor of military rape Sandra Lee.  After a brief press conference, the group attempted to cover the recruitment center in bumper stickers that read "1 in 3 Women in the Military are Raped" but were stopped by a massive police line.

We have had two requests for copies of the "10 Excellent Reasons Not to Join the Military" and we need your help in fulfilling those requests!

A boys' juvenile facility in Colorado has requested 10 copies and a girls' recreational facility in California is requesting two copies of this book.  Click here to to contribute so we can fulfill these requests!
